Devils acquire Domingue from Tampa Bay

The New Jersey Devils have acquired goaltender Louis Domingue from the Tampa Bay Lightning in exchange for a conditional seventh-round pick in the 2021 NHL Draft.

Domingue has been assigned to the AHL’s Binghamton Devils.

The 27-year-old Domingue has appeared in four games with the AHL’s Syracuse Crunch this season, posting a record of 2-1-1 with a 3.81 goals-against average and an .863 save percentage.

In 93 career AHL games with Syracuse, Springfield and Portland, Domingue has compiled a record of 42-36-4 with a 2.93 GAA, a .904 save percentage and four shutouts.

Last year, Domingue set a personal NHL career high in wins when he went 21-5-0 (2.88, .906) in 26 games with the Lightning. The native of St-Hyacinthe, Que., has played 122 career games in the NHL with Tampa Bay and Arizona, going 55-49-8 with a 2.96 GAA, a .907 save percentage and two shutouts.

Domingue was originally selected by Arizona in the fifth round of the 2010 NHL Draft.
