(thealbanydevils.com) — A pair of Albany Devils newcomers made a big impact in their preseason debuts on Thursday, as Artem Demkov registered a goal, a shootout goal and an assist and Dmitry Goldenkov netted the shootout winner in the Devils’ 4-3 victory over the Hartford Wolf Pack at the XL Center.

Reid Boucher produced a goal and a shootout tally and Darcy Zajac also scored in regulation for Albany.

Scott Wedgewood, who arrived in Albany Wednesday from New Jersey Devils camp, made 12 saves, not including three during the shootout. At the other end, Hartford’s Jason Missiaen registered 37 stops, fighting off a Devils 18-0 shot advantage in the second period.

After falling behind 1-0 after Hartford’s Tyler Gjurich opened the scoring 2:00 into the game, Boucher found the back of the net from Demkov and Joe Whitney at 1:00 of the second period. Zajac and Demkov scored late in the second to make the score 3-1.

In the third, the Wolf Pack netted a pair of power-play goals to even the score. Bretton Stamler struck at 4:45 and Jason Lepine followed at 10:19.

After a scoreless overtime, Boucher scored during the first round, while Demkov found the back of the net in the second and Goldenkov secured the win in the fifth.
