Devils sign goaltender Parise

The New Jersey Devils, parent club of the AHL’s Lowell Devils, have signed goaltender Jordan Parise to his first professional contract.

Parise, 23, is the older brother of current Devils forward and 2005 AHL All-Star Zach Parise, and son of former AHL and NHL forward J.P. Parise.

A native of Faribault, Minn., Jordan spent the last three seasons at the University of North Dakota, compiling a record of 55-20-7 with 10 shutouts in 83 games.

In 2005-06, Parise reached career highs in games played (34), wins (24) and shutouts (six), and leaves the school as its all-time leader in goals-against average (2.14).

Parise was named to the 2006 NCAA West All-Tournament Team, as well as the 2005 and 2006 WCHA All-Academic Teams. His Fighting Sioux reached the NCAA Frozen Four the past two seasons, getting to the NCAA championship game in 2005.
