Ducks agree to deal with Hendry

The Anaheim Ducks, parent club of the AHL’s Norfolk Admirals, have signed defenseman Jordan Hendry to a one-year contract through the 2012-13 NHL season.

Hendry, 28, has appeared in 129 career NHL games with Chicago, earning four goals and nine assists for 13 points with 40 penalty minutes. A member of the 2010 Stanley Cup champion Blackhawks, Hendry played 15 games during Chicago’s successful playoff run that spring.

A native of Nokomis, Sask., Hendry began the 2011-12 season with Houston, Minnesota’s primary development affiliate in the American Hockey League. In 10 games with the Aeros, Hendry recorded two assists, a plus-8 rating and 10 PIM. He signed a one-year contract with HC Lugano of the Swiss Elite League in November and went on to appear in 29 games, earning one goal and nine assists.

Hendry has skated in 201 career AHL games with Houston, Rockford and Norfolk, totaling 11 goals and 28 assists for 39 points and a plus-36 rating.
