Ducks assign Bobkov to Crunch

The Syracuse Crunch announced Tuesday that the Anaheim Ducks have assigned goaltender Igor Bobkov to the Crunch.

Bobkov, 21, spent the 2011-12 campaign with the Kingston Frontenacs of the Ontario Hockey League (OHL), playing in 58 games and recording 17 wins with a .902 save percentage and 3.64 goals-against average.

A native of Surgut, Russia, Bobkov earned two wins for the Crunch at the end of the 2010-11 season. Bobkov also helped lead Russia to a gold medal at the 2011 IIHF World Junior Championships by stopping all 20 shots faced in relief en route to a 5-3 championship.

The Ducks drafted Bobkov in the third round, 76th overall, during the 2009 NHL Entry Draft.
