Ducks, Coyotes trade prospects

The Anaheim Ducks have acquired defenseman Trevor Murphy from the Arizona Coyotes in exchange for left wing Giovanni Fiore.

Murphy, 23, has recorded five goals and eight assists for 13 points in 27 AHL games with the Tucson Roadrunners this season, his fourth pro campaign.

A native of Windsor, Ont., Murphy has skated in 220 AHL contests with Tucson and Milwaukee, totaling 38 goals and 75 assists for 113 points. He has also tallied one goal and two assists in eight career NHL games, all with Arizona during the 2017-18 season.

Fiore, 22, has six goals and five assists for 11 points in 23 games with the AHL’s San Diego Gulls this season.

The second-year pro from Laval, Que., notched 18 goals and 12 assists in 65 games as a rookie with San Diego in 2017-18. He also made his NHL debut with Anaheim, appearing in one game.
