Ducks ink Carrick to one-year extension

The Anaheim Ducks have signed center Sam Carrick to a one-year contract extension through the 2019-20 NHL season.

Carrick, 27, established career highs with 32 goals, 29 assists and 61 points in 61 games with the AHL’s San Diego Gulls in 2018-19, his seventh professional season.

He added seven goals and seven assists for 14 points in 16 postseason games, and also tallied one assist in six NHL contests with Anaheim.

Originally a fifth-round selection by Toronto in the 2010 NHL Draft, Carrick has notched 100 goals and 141 assists for 241 points in 392 career AHL games with San Diego, Rockford and Toronto. He has also appeared in 62 Calder Cup Playoff games, notching 17 goals and 21 assists.

Carrick also has one goal and two assists in 25 NHL contests with the Ducks and Maple Leafs.
