Ducks ink four players

The Anaheim Ducks have signed defenseman Steve Oleksy to a two-year, one-way contract through the 2018-19 NHL season and center Derek Grant to a one-year, one-way contract through 2017-18. In addition, the Ducks have signed left wing Mike Liambas and right wing Scott Sabourin to one-year, two-way contracts through 2017-18.

Oleksy, 31, played 36 games in the AHL last season between Wilkes-Barre/Scranton and Toronto, totaling four goals and 10 assists for 14 points. He added one assist in 11 NHL games with Pittsburgh.

A native of Chesterfield, Mich., Oleksy has registered 13 goals and 74 assists for 87 points, along with 652 penalty minutes and a plus-47 rating, in 319 AHL games with Toronto, Wilkes-Barre/Scranton, Hershey, Bridgeport and Lake Erie. He has also collected three goals and 17 assists for 20 points in 73 career NHL contests with Pittsburgh and Washington.

Grant, 27, notched 11 goals and eight assists for 19 points in 23 AHL games with Rochester last season, while also picking up four assists in 46 NHL games with Buffalo and Nashville.

Originally a fourth-round pick by Ottawa in the 2008 NHL Entry Draft, Grant has skated in 315 regular-season AHL games with Rochester, Stockton and Binghamton, totaling 99 goals and 82 assists for 181 points. He also has three points in 14 postseason games and won a Calder Cup championship with Binghamton in 2011.

In 86 career NHL games with Buffalo, Nashville, Calgary and Ottawa, Grant has recorded seven assists. The Abbotsford, B.C., native also participated in the AHL All-Star Classic in 2016.

Liambas, 28, tallied three goals and eight assists for a career-high 11 points in 72 AHL games with Milwaukee last season, and led the AHL with 149 penalty minutes. He also appeared in one game with Nashville, making his NHL debut.

The 5-10, 203-pound native of Toronto, Ont., has collected 13 goals, 17 assists and 836 PIM in 257 career AHL games with Milwaukee and Rockford.

Sabourin, 24, spent last season with the AHL’s San Diego Gulls and notched eight goals and nine assists with a plus-7 rating in 54 regular-season games. He also tied for third in the AHL with 147 penalty minutes.

The native of Orleans, Ont., has tallied 29 goals and 33 assists for 62 points with 494 PIM in 221 AHL games with San Diego, Iowa, Ontario and Manchester.
