Ducks, Jets trade prospects

The Anaheim Ducks, parent club of the AHL’s Syracuse Crunch, have acquired center Riley Holzapfel from the Winnipeg Jets, parent club of the AHL’s St. John’s IceCaps, in exchange for center Maxime Macenauer.

Holzapfel, 23, played 29 games with St. John’s this season, recording 15 points (8g, 7a). A native of Regina, Sask., Holzapfel has played in 231 career AHL games recording 97 points (40g, 57a) with St. John’s and Chicago.

The winger was originally drafted by the Atlanta Thrashers in the second round, 43rd overall, of the 2006 NHL Entry Draft.

Macenauer, 23, appeared in 92 contests with the Crunch over the 2010-11 and 2011-12 seasons earning 38 points (17g, 21a), including four goals and two assists in 13 games this year. The Laval, Que., native made his NHL debut this season, appearing in 29 games with the Ducks recording four points (1g, 3a).

Macenauer was selected by Anaheim in the third round, 63rd overall, of the 2007 NHL entry Draft.
