Ducks plucked by mighty Admirals

Simon Gamache had a goal and three assists to lead the offense as Milwaukee rolled to a 9-3 win over Cincinnati on Thursday night at the Bradley Center.

The Admirals, who have lost just once in regulation this season, improved to 9-1-1-1. The Mighty Ducks lost their seventh in a row to fall to 5-9-0-0.

Cincinnati actually broke out to an early 1-0 lead on Dustin Penner‘s first professional goal, and the game was even at 2-2 after 20 minutes.

In the second period, all was quiet until Milwaukee erupted for four goals in 3:34, beginning with Dan Hamhuis‘s power-play goal at 9:24. Andrew Hutchinson added a shorthanded marker later in the period and the Admirals had a 7-2 lead.

Vern Fiddler scored twice for Milwaukee, and Scottie Upshall added a goal and two assists to go with a plus-5 rating.

Seamus Kotyk, making just his second start of the year, was the recipient of all this support and improved to 2-0-0 on the season, stopping 30 shots.
