The Calgary Flames announced today that they have signed free-agent forward Austin Czarnik.
Czarnik, 25, set career highs with 25 goals, 44 assists, 69 points and a plus-18 rating in 64 games with the AHL’s Providence Bruins last season. He was named a Second Team AHL All-Star and participated in the 2018 AHL All-Star Classic, and finished third in the league’s scoring race.
Czarnik also appeared in 10 NHL games with Boston last season, registering four assists.
Czarnik, an AHL All-Rookie selection in 2015-16, has played 157 career AHL games, tallying 51 goals and 104 assists for 155 points. He also has seven goals and nine assists for 16 points in 24 postseason contests.
A native of Washington Township, Mich., Czarnik has collected five goals and 12 assists for 17 points in 59 career NHL games with Boston.
