Flames sign Vey to one-year deal

The Calgary Flames, parent club of the AHL’s Stockton Heat, have signed forward Linden Vey to a one-year, two-way contract.

Vey, a native of Wakaw, Sask., played 26 AHL games with the Utica Comets in 2015-16, tallying three goals and 12 assists for 15 points. He added four goals and 11 assists for 15 points in 41 NHL games with Vancouver.

Originally drafted by Los Angeles in the fourth round of the 2009 NHL Entry Draft, Vey has appeared in 134 NHL games over five pro seasons with the Canucks and Kings, registering 14 goals and 30 assists for 44 points.

Vey has appeared in 217 AHL games with Utica and Manchester, notching 58 goals and 116 assists for 173 points. He was named to the AHL All-Star Classic in 2014 but was unable to participate in the event.
