Flames take road win over Marlies, 3-1


QUAD CITY 3, TORONTO 1

Three different skaters netted goals as Quad City downed host Toronto by a 3-1 count on Saturday afternoon at Ricoh Coliseum.

David Van der Gulik scored for the second time in as many days (2-1-3), and the Flames also received goals from Jamie Lundmark and Warren Peters on its way to victory.

Quad City captured its first road win of the season and moved to 2-4-1-0 overall. Toronto fell to 2-3-0-1 on the young campaign.

Van der Gulik and Lundmark scored their goals on the power play, while Peters recorded an even strength marker. Quad City built a 3-0 lead by the 7:47 mark of the second period.

Kris Chucko chipped in a pair of assists for the Flames to run his scoring streak to three games (2-3-5), and goaltender Matt Keetley earned the victory with 27 saves on 28 shots.

Andre Deveaux netted the Marlies’ lone goal 6:18 into the third period.
