Flyers ink goaltender Zepp

The Philadelphia Flyers, parent club of the AHL’s Lehigh Valley Phantoms, announced that they have signed goaltender Rob Zepp to a one-year, two-way contract.

Zepp, 32, has spent the last seven seasons in Germany, playing for the Berlin Polar Bears of the German Ice Hockey League (DEL). Zepp helped Berlin to five league championships in his seven seasons, in 2008, 2009, 2011, 2012 and 2013.

Originally drafted by the Atlanta Thrashers in the fourth round in 1999, Zepp re-entered the draft in 2001 and was selected by Carolina in the fourth round. He has played seven career AHL games, earning a record of 1-4-2 with one shutout for the Lowell Lock Monsters in 2002-03 and 2003-04.
