Four for Raffi in Road Runners’ win

Raffi Torres scored three of his four goals during the third period as Edmonton claimed a 7-3 decision from Milwaukee in a battle of Western Conference powers on Wednesday night.

The Admirals led by a goal before the Road Runners scored five times in the final 11:57 of the contest.

Torres broke a 1-1 tie in the final minute of the first period, and evened the score at 3-3 at 8:03 of the third. He completed his hat trick 23 seconds after Jamie Wright put Edmonton ahead for good, and capped his four-goal performance with 1:41 to go.

Wright scored twice in the third period and finished with three points on the night, as Edmonton handed Milwaukee just its second regulation loss of the season (11-2-1-1).

Torres, a two-time Calder Cup finalist with Bridgeport (2002) and Hamilton (2003), has nine goals and four assists in nine games with the Road Runners.

The teams meet again Friday night at Rexall Place.
