Bridgeport entertains Hershey in a battle of East Division foes on Wednesday morning (11:00 ET) as the Sound Tigers host their third annual “Cool Fun 101” game at Harbor Yard… The schoolchildren in attendance will participate in interactive exercises that relate real-life applications of school subjects to hockey… For example, math: Bridgeport is 8-0-0-0 this season when allowing fewer than three goals in a game, and 2-12-2-0 when allowing three or more… History: Wade Dubielewicz made 33 saves in Saturday’s 3-0 win over Philadelphia for his 11th career shutout, most ever by a Sound Tigers goalie… Geography: the visiting Bears are 5-0-1-2 outside the state of Pennsylvania this season… Special (teams) education: Hershey ranks second in the AHL in both power play (22.9%) and penalty killing (88.3%) efficiency.

BY THE NUMBERS:
1 — Calder Cup championship won by goaltender Joe Turner, in his only professional season, with the 1941-42 Indianapolis Capitals… Turner, a First Team AHL All-Star that year, joined the U.S. Marine Corps and died in battle during World War II, one of hundreds of American Hockey League players who sacrificed their careers – and lives – for the war efforts in the U.S. and Canada… Turner’s name graced the championship trophy of the International Hockey League from 1946-2001.
