Gilman named general manager of Marlies

Laurence Gilman has been named assistant general manager of the Toronto Maple Leafs, the team announced today.

In his role, Gilman will hold multiple responsibilities, including overseeing the organization’s top prospects as general manager of the Maple Leafs’ AHL affiliate, the Toronto Marlies, starting in the 2018-19 season.

From 2008 to 2015, Gilman worked with the Vancouver Canucks organization, most recently as the club’s vice president of hockey operations and assistant general manager. He also spent 13 seasons with the Phoenix Coyotes/Winnipeg Jets organization, where he served as GM of the Utah Grizzlies and San Antonio Rampage in the AHL.
