Goodrow named CCM/AHL Player of the Week

SPRINGFIELD, Mass. … The American Hockey League announced today that San Jose Barracuda right wing Barclay Goodrow has been selected as the CCM/AHL Player of the Week for the period ending Dec. 6, 2015.

Goodrow racked up four goals and three assists for seven points along with a plus-7 rating in just two games last week, scoring the game-winning goal in both contests for San Jose.

In Friday night’s meeting with Stockton, Goodrow tallied three assists in the opening period and then scored in the second to help the Barracuda to a 5-3 victory over the Heat; Goodrow registered a team-high three shots on goal in the game and finished with a plus-3 rating. Then on Saturday afternoon, Goodrow scored three tiebreaking goals, the last coming 23 seconds into overtime as San Jose defeated Bakersfield, 7-6. The hat trick was the first multiple-goal game of Goodrow’s professional career, and gave him seven points in a span of less than 21 hours.

Goodrow has totaled eight goals and three assists for 11 points in 13 games with the Barracuda this season, along with three assists in 12 NHL contests with the parent San Jose Sharks. He appeared in 60 NHL games as a rookie with San Jose in 2014-15, notching four goals and eight assists, while adding two goals and four assists in seven AHL games with Worcester last season. A 22-year-old native of Toronto, Goodrow was signed as a free agent by the Sharks on Mar. 6, 2014.

In recognition of his achievement, Goodrow will be presented with an etched crystal award prior to an upcoming Barracuda home game.
