Gulls sign Tropp to AHL pact

The San Diego Gulls announced today that the club has signed right wing Corey Tropp to a one-year AHL contract for the 2018-19 season.

Tropp, 28, tallied 17 goals and 26 assists for 43 points in 50 games with the Gulls last season. He is the leading scorer in franchise history with 108 career points in a Gulls uniform.

Tropp has played 287 career games in the AHL with San Diego, Albany, Rochester and Portland, registering 75 goals and 127 assists for 202 points. He also has three goals and six assists in 24 Calder Cup Playoff games.

Originally drafted by the Buffalo Sabres in the third round in 2007, Tropp was acquired by the Anaheim Ducks in a trade from New Jersey on Feb. 29, 2016. He has appeared in 149 career NHL games with Buffalo, Columbus and Anaheim, collecting six goals and 21 assists for 27 points.
