Hamilton takes Game 5, series lead over Moose

Defensemen Dan Jancevski and Mathieu Biron each tallied for Hamilton to help the Bulldogs roll to a 3-1 win in Game 5 at Copps Coliseum and take a 3 games to 2 lead over the Manitoba Moose on Sunday.

Biron scored the eventual game winner just 54 seconds into the third period on the man advantage for Hamilton.

Carey Price backstopped the Bulldogs with a 35-save effort to snap a two-game skid and put Hamilton one win away from advancing to its fourth Conference finals in team history, and first since 2003.

Jancevski also added an assist on the night while teammates Corey Locke had two helpers and Ajay Baines scored an empty net goal for Hamilton.

Brandon Reid scored the lone goal and Drew MacIntyre stopped 25 of 27 shots for Manitoba in the loss.

The series shifts back to Winnipeg and the MTS Centre on Monday as Manitoba looks to even the series and force a decisive Game 7.
