Harding recalled by Wild

Following their trade of three-time AHL All-Star goaltender Dwayne Roloson to Edmonton on Wednesday, the Minnesota Wild recalled Josh Harding from the AHL’s Houston Aeros.

Harding, 21, is in the midst of his second season with the Aeros. The native of Regina, Sask., has a record of 27-8-0 in 36 games for Houston in 2005-06, ranking second in the AHL in wins and tied for first in save percentage (.923).

He was selected to participate in the 2006 Rbk Hockey AHL All-Star Classic, but missed the event due to injury.

Last season, Harding paced the Aeros with 21 wins and was fifth in the league with a 2.01 goals-against average.

Originally selected by the Wild in the second round (38th overall) of the 2002 NHL Entry Draft, Harding was the first goalie ever drafted by the franchise. He will wear sweater number 29 with Minnesota.
