Houston edges Moose, 3-2

Petr Taticek scored with 3:49 to play and Josh Harding made 23 saves as Houston defeated Manitoba, 3-2, at the MTS Centre on Friday night.

The Aeros earned a split of their two-game series with the Moose and improved their West-leading record to 14-5-1-1.

Prestin Ryan and Mike Keane scored 12 seconds apart to give Manitoba an early 2-0 lead. It was Ryan’s second goal of the season, and Keane’s first in the AHL since 1988.

Curtis Murphy began the Houston comeback with a power-play goal 41 seconds into the middle frame, and Erik Westrum tied the score 27 seconds into the third, his league-leading 30th point of the year.

Taticek, who assisted on the Aeros’ first two goals, then gave Houston the lead for the first time, poking a loose puck past Wade Flaherty at the 16:11 mark.

Harding made a huge glove save on Craig Darby with just over a minute to play to preserve the win and improve to 10-4-0 on the season.

Flaherty made 31 saves for the Moose, who fell a point behind Grand Rapids atop the North Division.
