Hudler recalled by Red Wings

The Detroit Red Wings have recalled forward Jiri Hudler, the leading scorer in the American Hockey League, from their AHL affiliate in Grand Rapids.

In 22 games with the Griffins this season, Hudler has recorded 16 goals and 19 assists for 35 points. In addition to leading the league in scoring, Hudler ranks second in goals and tied for second in assists.

Detroit is in action Sunday evening when it hosts the New York Islanders.

Hudler, 21, has appeared in 12 career NHL games with the Red Wings, all during the 2003-04 season, recording one goal and two assists.
