Hurricanes agree to terms with Di Giuseppe

The Carolina Hurricanes announced that the team has agreed to terms with forward Phil Di Giuseppe on a one-year contract.

The deal will pay Di Giuseppe $725,000 on the NHL level, or $125,000 on the American Hockey League level, in 2017-18.

Di Giuseppe, 23, appeared in 40 games with the AHL’s Charlotte Checkers last season, scoring 12 goals and recording 16 assists for 28 points. He also tallied one goal and six assists in 36 NHL games with the Hurricanes.

A native of Maple, Ont., Di Giuseppe was a second-round choice by Carolina in the 2012 NHL Entry Draft. He has totaled 24 points in 77 career NHL games, along with 31 goals and 46 assists for 77 points in 144 AHL games.
