Hurricanes sign Renouf

The Carolina Hurricanes today announced that the team has agreed to terms with defenseman Dan Renouf on a one-year, two-way contract.

Renouf, 24, registered two goals and 10 assists for 12 points in 73 AHL games with the Grand Rapids Griffins in 2017-18.

As a rookie in 2016-17, he recorded three goals and 13 assists for 16 points in 67 regular-season games and added two goals and two assists in 19 playoff contests, helping Grand Rapids win the Calder Cup championship.

The 24-year-old native of Ajax, Ont., has appeared in one NHL game, making his debut with the Detroit Red Wings on Mar. 27, 2017, at Carolina.
