The St. John’s IceCaps announced Monday that they have signed goaltender Yann Danis to a one-year, AHL contract.
Danis, 35, appeared in 47 games with the Albany Devils last season, going 28-12-5 with a 2.22 goals-against average (third in the AHL), a .908 save percentage and eight shutouts (second). He also represented the Devils at the 2016 AHL All-Star Classic, and appeared in two NHL games with New Jersey.
The Lafontaine, Que., native has played 389 career AHL games, posting a record of 194-135-39. He ranks 15th all-time in victories and eighth with 28 shutouts. The three-time AHL All-Star was also a member of Hamilton’s Calder Cup championship team in 2006-07.
Danis has also appeared in 55Â NHL games with New Jersey, Edmonton, the N.Y. Islanders and Montreal.
