IceHogs’ Brouwer to answer fan questions on Thursday

The American Hockey League has announced that Rockford IceHogs forward Troy Brouwer will enter the AHL Chat Room on Thursday, May 8, to answer fans’ questions. Please click here to submit your question(s) for the chat.

A second-year pro, Brouwer led the IceHogs with 35 goals during the regular season, including a league-high 25 power play tallies.

The 22-year-old Brouwer ranked third on the club in 2007-08 with 54 points in 75 regular-season contests. He has totaled four points (1-3-4) thus far in the 2008 Calder Cup Playoffs, as the IceHogs are currently battling Chicago in the West Division finals.

Drafted in 2004 by the Chicago Blackhawks, Brouwer notched a team-high 41 goals (41-38-79) as a rookie last season when the Blackhawks’ AHL prospects were based in Norfolk. He put together a four-point effort (2-2-4) in just his third professional game for the Admirals.

The Vancouver native participated in the 2007 AHL All-Star Game in Toronto and was named to the AHL’s All-Rookie Team and Second All-Star Team last season.

Brouwer has combined to appear in 12 NHL games for the Blackhawks over the last two campaigns, and he registered an assist for his first career NHL point this past March 23 in a 4-3 overtime victory over St. Louis.
