IceHogs complete second straight sweep

The Rockford juggernaut is rolling into the Western Conference Finals.

The IceHogs completed their second consecutive series sweep with a 6-3 win over the Manitoba Moose at BMO Harris Bank Center on Friday night, their seventh straight victory to begin the postseason.

Cody Franson scored two of Rockford’s four power-play goals in Game 4, Chris DiDomenico recorded a goal and two assists and Carl Dahlstromscored the go-ahead goal early in the second period after the teams were tied at 2-2 through 20 minutes.

Victor Edjsell scored on a penalty shot, his fifth goal in the last five games for the IceHogs.

Collin Delia (7-0) made 35 saves in the win, improving to 17-1-2 in his last 20 decisions overall.

Julian Melchiori notched a goal and an assist for the Moose, who could not match Rockford’s special teams in the series. The IceHogs finished 8-for-22 (36.4 percent) on the power play and a perfect 14-for-14 on the penalty kill during the division finals.
