Iowa signs former AHL All-Star goaltender Sauve

The Iowa Stars have signed goaltender Philippe Sauve to a one-year American Hockey League contract.

Sauve is entering his 8th professional season and is a veteran of 206 career AHL games. Last season, Sauve played for the San Antonio Rampage, Providence Bruins and Hamilton Bulldogs, while recording 16 wins and 2 shutouts.  The Buffalo, NY native has totaled 87 wins and 16 shutouts in his AHL career.

Sauve played in the 2003 AHL All-Star Classic in Portland, ME and was the starting goaltender for the PlanetUSA AHL All-Stars. 

 Sauve is the son of former NHL goaltender Bob Sauve and was drafted in the second round, 38th overall, by the Colorado Avalanche in the 1998 NHL Entry Draft.
