Islanders, Avalanche trade forwards

The New York Islanders, parent club of the AHL’s Bridgeport Sound Tigers, have acquired forward Marc-Andre Cliche from the Colorado Avalanche, parent club of the AHL’s San Antonio Rampage, in exchange for forward Taylor Beck.

Cliche, 28, has played in 38 games this season with the San Antonio Rampage of the American Hockey League, recording six goals and 13 assists for 19 points.

The Rouyn-Noranda, Que., native has played 379 career AHL games with San Antonio and Manchester, registering 74 goals and 96 assists for 170 points. He also has 151 games of National Hockey League experience with Colorado and Los Angeles, picking up three goals and 11 assists.

Beck, 24, has recorded 16 goals and 17 assists for 33 points in 46 contests with Bridgeport this season, and also skated in two NHL games with the Islanders.

The fifth-year pro from St. Catharines, Ont., has appeared in 239 career AHL games with Bridgeport and Milwaukee, tallying 60 goals and 104 assists for 164 points. He has 11 goals and 12 assists for 23 points in 87 career NHL contests with Nashville and the Islanders.
