Knights continue playoff push

Carsen Germyn scored 1:05 into overtime to lead the Omaha Ak-Sar-Ben Knights over the Manitoba Moose, 3-2.

The goal was Germyn’s team leading 21st of the season.

The Knights scored quickly out of the gate when Eric Nystrom put one past Manitoba goaltender Sebastien Centomo 49 seconds into the first period. Nystrom and Craig MacDonald finished the game with a goal and an assist for the Knights.

February KOHO/AHL Goaltender of the Month Brent Krahn made 21 saves on 23 shots to pick up his eighth win in his last nine games.

Craig Darby and Matt Craig scored the goals for Manitoba.

The win is the Knights’ (27-24-2-7, 63 pts.) fourth consecutive victory and their ninth win in their last ten games. Omaha’s recent surge has put the team in fourth place in the West division.

Manitoba (35-17-5-3, 78 pts.) remain in third place in the North division.
