Kopriva shuts the door on visiting Knights

Miroslav Kopriva stopped 36 of 37 shots through regulation and overtime as well as all four Omaha skaters in the shootout to backstop Houston to a 2-1 win at the Toyota Center on Tuesday night.

Mattias Weinhandl netted the lone goal in regulation for Houston in the first period and tallied a shootout goal to help Houston secure two points in the standings.

Kopriva has won two of his last three starts, posting a 1.89 goals-against average and .950 save percentage in that span.

Warren Peters provided a goal for Omaha as netminder Curtis McElhinney stopped 24 of 25 shots in a losing effort.


SAN ANTONIO 4, IOWA 1
The Rampage tallied four unanswered goals in the third period, after falling into a 1-0 deficit in the first period, to defeat the Iowa Stars 4-1 at Wells Fargo Arena.

Daniel Winnik tallied a pair of goals for San Antonio, who won its second straight game, only allowing one goal in each contest.

Yanick Lehoux also scored a goal and added two assists on the night while netminder David LeNeveu needed only 20 saves to earn his seventh win on the season.

Marty Sertich scored the lone goal in the loss for Iowa.
