With a third-period goal at Binghamton on Saturday night, Wilkes-Barre/Scranton Penguins captain Tom Kostopoulos has become the newest member of the American Hockey League’s 500-point club.

Kostopoulos is the 91st player in league history with 500 regular-season points, and just four days after his 38th birthday, he is the second-oldest player ever to reach the plateau.

The veteran forward has recorded 15 goals and 18 assists for 33 points in 45 games for the Penguins this season, and now has 197 goals and 303 assists in 662 career AHL contests.

Kostopoulos also has 61 goals and 96 assists for 157 points in 630 games in the National Hockey League over his 18 professional seasons.
