Marlies clinch sixth straight playoff berth

The Toronto Marlies secured a spot in the AHL postseason on Friday night, their sixth consecutive trip to the Calder Cup Playoffs.

The Marlies punched their ticket when St. John’s dropped a 4-3 decision in Albany.

Since missing the playoffs in 2010 and 2011, Toronto has registered six straight 40-win seasons and is closing in on their fifth division title. The Marlies reached the Calder Cup Finals in 2012 and were conference finalists in 2014 and 2016.
