Marlies sign Corrado to AHL contract

The Toronto Marlies have signed defenseman Frank Corrado to an American Hockey League contract.

Corrado, 25, notched one goal and 13 assists for 14 points in 32 AHL games with the Wilkes-Barre/Scranton Penguins last season, and also appeared in five NHL games with the Pittsburgh Penguins.

Originally drafted by Vancouver in 2011, Corrado has appeared in 175 AHL contests with Wilkes-Barre, Toronto, Utica and Chicago, totaling 16 goals and 53 assists for 69 points along with a plus-29 rating. He has also recorded one goal in 21 postseason games, and reached the Calder Cup Finals with Utica in 2015.

A native of Toronto, Corrado has put up three goals and five assists in 76 career NHL matches with Pittsburgh, Toronto and Vancouver.
