The Toronto Marlies are returning to the Eastern Conference Finals after a 6-2 victory over the Cleveland Monsters on Tuesday night.
The Marlies (7-0) finished off their second consecutive series sweep and are off to the conference finals for the fifth time in the last eight seasons, where they will meet either Charlotte or Hershey.
Toronto spotted Cleveland a 2-0 lead early in Game 4 before scoring six unanswered goals, including four in less than nine minutes in the second period. Mason Marchment and Trevor Moore each scored twice in that span.
Kasimir Kaskisuo made 23 saves, finishing the series with seven goals against on 114 shots (1.75, .939).
Toronto has won six consecutive Calder Cup Playoff series — four of them via sweep — and has gone 22-5 in 27 games since the start of the 2018 postseason.
