Milwaukee bounces back with 4-1 win

MILWAUKEE 4, HOUSTON 1

Milwaukee tallied three unanswered goals to turn a 1-1 tie into a 4-1 win over Houston on Saturday in Game 2 of the West Division Finals. Ryan Jones scored twice and Mike Santorelli tallied a goal and an assist for a game-high three points.

The division-champion Admirals evened the best-of-7 series at one game apiece.

Coming off a loss on home ice in the series opener, the Admirals struck first when defenseman Cody Franson scored just 2:57 after the opening face-off, his second goal of the postseason.

Milwaukee nursed the 1-0 lead until Houston forward Robbie Earl scored his third goal of the playoffs at 11:38 of the second period to knot the contest at 1-1.

Jones then lit the lamp on the power play at the 16:25 mark to give Milwaukee the lead for good, with assists going to Cal O’Reilly and Santorelli.

Santorelli made it a 3-1 game by tallying his team-leading fourth goal of the playoffs 2:37 into the third period, and Jones provided an additional insurance marker at the 11:01 mark.

Jed Ortmeyer posted a pair of assists for Milwaukee, giving him six points (1-5-6) in six playoff games this year. Admirals goaltender Drew MacIntyre only had to make 18 saves in the winning effort, as Milwaukee held a 35-19 advantage in shots.

The series now shifts to Houston for three contests at the Toyota Center, beginning with Game 3 on Tuesday evening.
