The Milwaukee Admirals clinched a berth in the 2014 Calder Cup Playoffs with a 4-1 win over Rockford on Friday night.
The Admirals, top development affiliate of the NHL’s Nashville Predators, are heading to the postseason for the 12th year in a row, the longest active streak in the American Hockey League. (Wilkes-Barre/Scranton is also closing in on their 12th consecutive playoff appearance this year.)
The Admirals’ clinch leaves two spots open in the Western Conference playoff draw with five teams still in contention. Rochester (78 points) and Oklahoma City (77 points) currently occupy seventh and eighth place, trailed by Charlotte (77), Rockford (75) and Utica (75).
