Milwaukee re-signs Van Guilder

The Milwaukee Admirals announced today that they have signed forwards Mark Van Guilder and Andre Bouvet-Morrissette to American Hockey League contracts.

Van Guilder returns to Milwaukee for his fourth full season after posting career highs in 2011-12 with 12 goals, 15 assists, 27 points and 70 games played. He was third on the Admirals with three game-winning goals and finished the season with a plus-8 rating.

In parts of four seasons with the Admirals, the Roseville, Minn., native has tallied 51 points on 22 goals and 29 assists in 165 games. He has also chipped in seven points (4g, 3a) in 23 Calder Cup Playoff contests with Milwaukee.

The Notre Dame alum helped lead the Fighting Irish to the 2008 NCAA championship game, finishing third on the team with 30 points. He also helped the Cincinnati Cyclones to the 2010 Kelly Cup, averaging over a point a game (5g, 10a) in 14 postseason contests.

In addition to his play on the ice, Van Guilder is also one the team’s leaders off of it, having won the Admirals Man of the Year award each of the past two seasons for his outstanding contributions to the Milwaukee community.

Bouvet-Morrissette enters his first professional season after spending the previous two seasons with Drummondville of the Quebec Major Junior Hockey League. Last season, Bouvet-Morrissette paced the Voltigeurs with 39 goals and tied for the team lead with 72 points, while finishing with a plus-9 rating, also tops on the squad.
