Milwaukee signs Grant, Madore

The Milwaukee Admirals announced today that they have signed forward Triston Grant and goaltender Rob Madore to AHL contracts for the 2014-15 season.

Grant returns to the Admirals, having played two seasons in Milwaukee from 2008-10. The Neepawa, Man., native spent the last two seasons playing for the Grand Rapids Griffins, where he helped the team capture the Calder Cup during the 2012-13 campaign.

In 2013-14, Grant scored six goals and added 10 assists for 16 points in 51 games, while compiling 103 penalty minutes.

In nine AHL seasons, Grant has appeared in 561 regular-season games with Philadelphia, Milwaukee, Rochester, Oklahoma City and Grand Rapids, totaling 60 goals and 67 assists for 127 points. He has amassed 1,565 minutes in penalties, ranking 34th in league history. He also has three goals and seven assists in 63 career Calder Cup Playoff games.

Grant has also skated in 11 career NHL games with Philadelphia and Nashville, notching one assist and 19 PIM.

Entering his third professional season in 2014-15, Madore appeared in eight AHL games between San Antonio and Charlotte last season, going 1-4-1 with a 3.05 goals-against average and a .902 save percentage. He made his AHL debut with Charlotte in 2012-13, going 5-3-0 (1.83, .951) with two shutouts.

Madore was named the most valuable player of the 2014 ECHL playoffs after going 14-10 with a 2.29 GAA and a .930 save percentage while leading Cincinnati to the Finals. He became the first player in ECHL history to be named playoff MVP without winning the Kelly Cup.

Madore was 17-12-1 in 32 regular-season appearances for Cincinnati last season. He played four seasons at the University of Vermont (2008-12) before turning pro.
