Monday’s AHL preseason recaps

SYRACUSE 4, BINGHAMTON 3 (OT)
Geoff Platt scored his second goal of the game at the 2:33 mark of overtime, giving host Syracuse a 4-3 win over Binghamton in the preseason finale for both teams.

Platt, an undrafted forward who scored 45 goals for Erie (OHL) last season, finished with three points on the night and eight points (5g, 3a) in three preseason contests.

Greg Mauldin set the stage for the Crunch’s overtime heroics when he scored with three seconds left in regulation. It was Mauldin’s second goal of the night.

Syracuse owned a 52-34 edge in shots on goal. Billy Thompson finished with 48 saves for the Senators, while Patrick Eaves recorded two assists.

HARTFORD 3, BRIDGEPORT 2 (OT)
Bryce Lampman scored 2:49 into OT to give Hartford a 3-2 win over Bridgeport in Shelton, Conn.

Craig Weller and Alexandre Giroux also scored for the Wolf Pack, who got 28 saves from rookie Al Montoya.

Allan Rourke and Paul Flache scored for the Sound Tigers.
