Monsters take preseason debut, 4-2

The Lake Erie Monsters made their AHL preseason debut on Thursday with a 4-2 win over Milwaukee in Hartland, Wis.

Travis Fuller and Tyler Mosienko gave the Admirals an early 2-0 lead, but Lake Erie responded with the final four goals of the night.

David Jones pulled the Monsters to within one on a goal with less than five minutes to play in the first period, and Justin Corbin and Mike McCutcheon scored in the second stanza to give Lake Erie a lead it would not relinquish.

Maxime Daigneault, playing the first two periods, stopped 10 of 13 shots for the Admirals before giving way to Dov Grumet-Morris in the third. Grumet-Morris swatted aside all five shots he saw.

Mike Wall was sharp for the Monsters, denying the Admirals on 30 of 32 shots, including 18 of 20 in the first period.
