Moose add All-Star goaltender

The Vancouver Canucks, the NHL affiliate of the Manitoba Moose, have acquired goaltender Maxime Ouellet from the Washington Capitals in exchange for a fifth-round draft choice in 2006.

Ouellet will report directly to the Moose.

In 2002-03, Ouellet played in the AHL All-Star Classic and was named a Second Team AHL All-Star at year’s end.

Ouellet has also appeared in eight games in the National Hockey League with Washington and Philadelphia. He has a 2.99 goals against average and a save percentage of .908 with a record of 2-4-1.

Ouellet was originally Philadelphia’s first-round choice, 22nd overall, in the 1999 NHL Entry Draft.
