Moose deal Goehring to Rampage, get Nesbitt from Phoenix

The Phoenix Coyotes have reassigned forward Derek Nesbitt to the AHL’s Manitoba Moose. In return, the Moose have traded goaltender Karl Goehring to the Coyotes’ AHL affiliate, the San Antonio Rampage.

Nesbitt has posted six goals and nine assists in 49 games with the Rampage this season. In the past two seasons with San Antonio and Rockford, the Egmondville, Ont., native has played in 95 career AHL games where he’s scored 50 points (23-27-50) and 12 penalty minutes.

Goehring, who made 23 appearances with San Antonio during the 2005-06 season, holds a 15-9-2 record in 26 games with the Moose this season including a 2.52 goals against average and .906 save percentage. The eighth-year veteran owns a 119-112-22 record in 273 career AHL games with a 2.64 goals-against average and a .912 save percentage.

The Apple Valley, Minn., spent the majority of last season with the Syracuse Crunch and aplayed in 13 playoff games with a 7-6 record. The 5-foot-8 and 160-pound Goehring played four years of collegiate hockey at the University of North Dakota compiling a 57-18-35 record through 118 NCAA games.
