SPRINGFIELD, Mass. … The American Hockey League announced today that Manitoba Moose goaltender Drew MacIntyre has been named the Rbk/AHL Player of the Week for the period ending February 24, 2008. MacIntyre stopped 98 of 101 shots over three road starts to help the Moose remain in second place in the North Division.

MacIntyre began his week with a historic night in Chicago on Wednesday. He made 29 saves on 30 shots and was credited with scoring the deciding goal in a 2-1 victory, snapping the Wolves’ seven-game winning streak. On Friday night, MacIntyre made 41 saves to lead Manitoba to a 4-1 win in Grand Rapids, and Saturday he turned aside 28 of 29 shots in a hard-luck 1-0 loss to the Griffins. In recognition of his achievement, MacIntyre will be presented with an etched crystal award prior to an upcoming Moose home game.
