Murray, Monarchs even things up

Marty Murray netted two goals and added an assist to lead the Manchester Monarchs to a 4-1 win over the Providence Bruins at Verizon Wireless Arena and even the Atlantic Division Finals series at one game apiece.

Barry Brust had 31 saves on the night to earn his second win of the Calder Cup Playoffs for Manchester.

Patrick O’Sullivan scored a goal and an assist, and defenseman Peter Harrold had two helpers for Manchester, who scored twice on the man advantage in the win.

David Krejci extended his scoring streak to four games by scoring his first goal of the playoffs with nine seconds left to play in regulation. Krejci leads the playoffs with 12 assists and 13 points, scoring in eight of nine postseason contests.

The Monarchs and P-Bruins will look to hold a 2-1 series lead when they face off in Game 3 at the Dunkin Donuts Center in Providence on May 8.
