AHL announces suspensions

SPRINGFIELD, Mass. … The American Hockey League today announced the following suspensions:

Rockford IceHogs defenseman Dennis Gilbert has been suspended for three (3) games as a consequence of an illegal check to the head of an opponent in a game vs. San Antonio on Dec. 2.

Gilbert was suspended under the provisions of AHL Rule 28.1 (supplementary discipline). He will miss Rockford’s games Friday (Dec. 7) vs. Grand Rapids, Saturday (Dec. 8) vs. Chicago and Dec. 14 at Grand Rapids.

Chicago Wolves forward Alex Gallant has been suspended for two (2) games as a consequence of his actions in a game vs. Texas on Dec. 2.

Gallant was suspended under the provisions of AHL Rule 21.1 after being assessed a match penalty. He will miss Chicago’s games Wednesday (Dec. 5) and Friday (Dec. 7) at Iowa.
