Syracuse and St. John’s open a two-game set at Mile One Centre tonight… The Crunch (10-8-2-1) enter play six points behind a three-team logjam at the top of the East Division, while the IceCaps have the best record in the league at 14-4-4-0 (.727)… Kyle Palmieri (13-7-20) recorded a goal and an assist and Iiro Tarkki (7-6-1, 2.58, .923) made 33 saves in Syracuse’s 5-2 win over Wilkes-Barre/Scranton on Saturday night… Nick Bonino tallied two assists and now has 3-6-9 in his last seven games… The IceCaps are back home after posting weekend wins in Hamilton and Toronto… ‘Caps forward Marco Rosa (2-6-8) and defenseman Jason DeSantis (1-4-5) both bring four-game scoring streaks into tonight’s game… St. John’s is 2-2-2-0 in the openers of home series… Syracuse ranks second in the AHL on the power play (25.8 percent); St. John’s is 30th in home penalty killing (67.4 percent).

After splitting a pair in Norfolk over the weekend, Adirondack heads north to close out its three-game road trip in Hamilton tonight… The Phantoms (13-8-0-1) had a four-game winning streak ended in a 2-1 loss to the Admirals on Saturday, the first time all season they have been held under two goals in a game… Jason Akeson (7-12-19) scored the only goal for Adirondack, his sixth in the last nine games… Hamilton halted a six-game winless slide with a 3-2 win over Rochester on Saturday… Mike Blunden, Mark Mitera and Joonas Nattinen scored in the win for the Bulldogs… Adirondack defenseman Dan Jancevski played three seasons for the Bulldogs (2004-05, 06-07, 08-09) and won a Calder Cup in Hamilton in 2007.

Houston wraps up a five-game road swing with a visit to the AT&T Center in San Antonio… The Aeros were on the short end of a 4-0 score in Toronto on Saturday afternoon after winning the first three games on the trip, and enters tonight’s action one point behind co-leaders Oklahoma City and Abbotsford in the West Division… San Antonio has won three of its last four, five of eight and six of 10, and has allowed a total of three goals in its last four games… Dov Grumet-Morris (3-0-0, 0.67, .975) has stopped 77 of 79 shots in his three starts since joining the Rampage… Jon DiSalvatore (8-13-21) continues to lead the Aeros in scoring… Houston has allowed 13 third-period goals this season, tied for the fewest in the AHL.
