Albany entertains Connecticut at the Times Union Center tonight… The Devils extended their winning streak to three games with a 1-0 win over Norfolk last night, as Keith Kinkaid stopped all 34 shots taken by the Admirals’ league-leading offense to earn his first professional shutout… Matt Taormina scored the only goal of the game 5:20 into the third period… Albany has won five of its last six games to climb to 6-6-0-0 for the season, at .500 for the first time since they had the same record 12 games into last season… Connecticut saw its eight-game points streak (6-0-0-2) snapped in a 6-3 loss to St. John’s last night… John Mitchell, Kris Newbury and Ryan Bourque (his first as a pro) scored for the Whale, but the IceCaps scored four times in the third period to win.

After being stymied in a 1-0 loss in Albany last night, Norfolk’s top-ranked offense heads to Bridgeport to battle the Sound Tigers tonight… The Admirals were averaging 4.6 goals per game before being shut out last night… Dustin Tokarski (3-3-0, 2.98, .878) made 20 saves in the loss; he and Jaroslav Janus (4-0-1, 3.12, .902) have alternated starts over the first 11 games of the season… Bridgeport is 2-0-1-0 so far on its five-game homestand, most recently a 4-3 overtime win vs. Connecticut on Wednesday… Tim Wallace scored his first three goals of the season in that win and now has 3-5-8 in his last four contests.

Charlotte looks to bounce back from last night’s 3-1 loss in Milwaukee with a visit to Grand Rapids this evening… The Griffins, winners of two in a row, have been off since Wednesday’s 3-0 victory over Lake Erie… Fabian Brunnstrom had a goal in his Griffins debut on Wednesday, and was recalled by Detroit this morning… Chris Conner (5-10-15) recorded two assists for his fifth multi-point game of the season… The Checkers have allowed eight goals in their last two games after giving up eight in their previous six outings combined… Chris Durno (1-1-2) scored his first goal of the season for Charlotte last night.

Lake Erie heads to Copps Coliseum tonight for its first meeting of the season with Hamilton… The Monsters were on the short end of a 5-3 decision vs. Houston on Thursday, despite getting a goal and an assist from team scoring leader David van der Gulik (3-6-9)… Hamilton saw its losing streak reach four games (0-3-1-0) with a 4-2 loss to Houston last night… Former Monster Brian Willsie and former Cleveland Baron Garrett Stafford scored power-play goals for the Bulldogs in the loss… Aaron Palushaj had two assists last night, giving him 0-7-7 in five games for Hamilton this season.

Providence and Manchester wrap up a home-and-home set at Verizon Wireless Arena tonight after the Monarchs’ 2-1 win in Rhode Island last night… Brandon Kozun and Patrick Mullen scored 1:58 apart in the first period to provide Manchester all the offense it would need, and Martin Jones stopped 39 of 40 shots — including all 21 he faced in the third period — to snap a personal four-game losing streak… Maxime Sauve scored for the Bruins and Anton Khudobin made 32 saves in the loss… Manchester enters tonight with three straight home losses since defeating St. John’s on opening night.

Worcester looks to avenge Tuesday’s 6-3 loss to St. John’s as the IceCaps return to the DCU Center tonight… St. John’s improved to 2-0-2-0 on its six-game road trip with another 6-3 win at Connecticut last night, rallying with four goals in the third period… Spencer Machacek scored for the Caps last night to extend his scoring streak to four games (2-2-4)… The Sharks’ only regulation loss this season was Tuesday’s setback to St. John’s (4-1-0-2)… Worcester rookie Mike Connolly (5-6-11) owns a six-game scoring streak, and defensemen Matt Irwin (4-3-7) and Sean Sullivan (2-4-6) have points in six of the Sharks’ seven games this year.

Wilkes-Barre/Scranton takes a ride up Interstate 81 for its first visit to Binghamton this season… The Penguins extended their winning streak to five games with a 4-0 victory over Hershey last night, getting two goals from Joey Mormina, a goal and an assist from Colin McDonald and 19 saves from Brad Thiessen for his 13th career AHL shutout… The Pens have outscored their opponents 19-5 since their last loss, a 5-4 overtime setback to the Senators on Oct. 15… Bryan Lerg ran his scoring streak to eight games (6-7-13) with an assist last night… Binghamton dropped a 3-2 decision at home to Rochester last night… Robin Lehner, in his first game back from Ottawa, allowed two goals in the first 2:33 of the game but settled down and finished with 32 saves… The Senators fell to 2-5-1-0 in one-goal games this season.

Rochester snapped a five-game winless streak with a 3-2 victory in Binghamton last night, as Jacob Lagace, Zack Kassian and Marcus Foligno all scored their fourth goals of the season… The Amerks now head to Syracuse to open a home-and-home set with a Crunch team that has been idle since a 6-2 loss to Norfolk last Saturday… Jean-Francois Jacques, back from a stint with Anaheim, has three goals and two assists in his last two games with Syracuse… The Crunch are 17-4-1-0 at home vs. Rochester since the start of the 2007-08 season.

Milwaukee heads back out on the road for a visit to Peoria tonight… The Admirals are 14-0-4-3 in their last 21 regular-season road games, a streak that has included three wins at Carver Arena… Kyle Wilson, Chris Mueller and Victor Bartley scored power-play goals in Milwaukee’s 3-1 win over Charlotte last night, coming after the Admirals had been 4-for-27 with the man advantage on the year coming in… The Rivermen lost, 2-1, to Chicago last night… Derek Nesbitt scored the only Peoria goal, finding the net for a fifth consecutive game… T.J. Hensick and Brett Sterling extended their point-scoring streaks to nine games each with an assist.

Toronto continues its road trip in San Antonio tonight after a 4-3 overtime loss to Texas on Thursday… Ryan Hamilton scored twice for the Marlies last time out, including the game-tying goal in the final minute of regulation… Joe Colborne (9-9-18) had a goal and an assist to keep his spot atop the AHL scoring leaderboard… The Rampage have lost four straight overall and five in a row at home… Michal Repik is San Antonio’s leading scorer with 1-5-6 in eight games; Bracken Kearns leads the club with three goals.

Oklahoma City looks to wrap up a perfect four-game road trip as it hits the ice in Abbotsford tonight… The Barons won in Houston and San Antonio last weekend before heading north and defeating the Heat, 3-2, on Thursday night… Gilbert Brule, Kevin Montgomery and Ryan Lowery scored for Oklahoma City (7-2-0-1), and Linus Omark picked up an assist in his season debut with the Barons… Leland Irving has started all 11 games for Abbotsford this season, and leads the league in wins (7) while ranking eighth in goals-against average (2.13).
