Wilkes-Barre/Scranton, winners of five straight, kicks off a three-game weekend road trip on Friday in Bridgeport against the Sound Tigers, who enter three points out of a playoff spot… The East Division rivals will lock horns four times over the season’s final month… Tim Brent leads the Penguins with 48 points (15-33-48) and has found the scoresheet in five of his last six games (2-4-6)… Midseason acquisition Dave Gove is coming off a hat trick on Wednesday for Wilkes-Barre, and seven of his 17 goals this season have been game-winners… The Penguins’ John Curry leads all AHL rookie goaltenders with a 2.18 GAA in 28 games (17-8-2)… As of Friday morning, each of Bridgeport’s top five scorers this season was on NHL recall to the parent N.Y. Islanders… Among active Sound Tigers, their top point-getters are rookies Sean Bentivoglio (8-19-27), Trevor Smith (13-11-24) and Kyle Okposo (8-15-23).
San Antonio concludes its four-game New England swing with weekend dates in Hartford, Providence and Springfield… The Rampage dropped a 2-1 decision to the Wolf Pack last Saturday, with Josh Gratton scoring the game-winner against his former team… Friday’s game marks San Antonio goaltender Al Montoya’s return to Hartford, where he went 66-34-1 for the Wolf Pack from 2005-08… Rampage leading scorer Matt Murley (16-33-49) eliminated the Wolf Pack from the 2004 playoffs with a Game 7 overtime goal for Wilkes-Barre/Scranton in the Eastern Conference Finals… Mike Zigomanis has two goals and four assists in his last four games for San Antonio… P.A.
